Stress, Anxiety and Depression. We operate a telephone support service between
7.00pm and 1.00am, from centres in
We are always looking for caring, understanding people, who could offer friendly non-judgmental support to our callers. No prior experience is required, and our volunteers are from all age groups and all walks of life. We do not offer any medical or counselling advice.
Training courses:
Our training course totals approximately 12 hours and is followed by
supported learning within the Branch. As a "Solace" volunteer you
will need to be able to commit to three evenings and one late shift duty, in
every four week period. The evening duties are carried out at one of our two
centres in Leamington or
Benefits of volunteering:
There is no financial remuneration although travelling expenses are paid. However the rewards are great in that we provide a much needed support service when many other organisations are closed. Our callers value our service for the important lifeline we offer in times of need. Volunteer work of this type will enhance your CV and employment opportunities, and give you a valuable overview of mental health concerns.
Dates of next Volunteer intake:
Our next training courses will be Autumn 2010
