Confidentiality policy:

1. We never discuss one caller with another under any circumstances.

2. We never discuss other volunteers with callers.

3. Confidentiality is within the Solace organisation. We do not accept a confidence on condition that we cannot discuss it with other volunteers.

4. Permission must be obtained from the caller if we wish to pass on specific information about them to a Resource Centre or other professional staff.

5. Confidential information is locked away at the end of each shift.

6. It is a legal requirement that information regarding any current abuse to a person under 18 years of age is passed on to the relevant authority.

7. It is a legal requirement that information regarding a terrorist attack is passed on to the relevant authority.
