Accessibility tips and features of the Solace website.
Change Font Size:
The Solace website enables visitors to increase the font size of the entire website. This feature can be activated by clicking the text size link options in the top left hand corner above the site logo.
Speech enabled:
The Solace website has been developed to aid in the use of specialist speech software like Browsealoud. Browsealoud is a Windows application and can be used with Internet Explorer 4 and Netscape Navigator 4 upwards. Simply click on the logo to switch on the reader and follow the set up instructions.

Navigate without mouse:
Should you wish to navigate around the site without the aid of a mouse, you have two options:
TAB KEY:
You can use your Tab key to move between links, and press Return or Enter to select one. To go back to the previous page, use the Backspace key. Use your arrow keys to scroll up or down the page.
ACCESS KEY:
By using either the ALT or CTRL key (or command key if using a MAC) in conjunction with a special key, you can navigate through the main sections of the site and press Return or Enter to select one. The keys assigned to the site sections are as follows:
Normal text use KEY P, Large text use KEY L
Home page use KEY 2, About us use KEY 3
Help page use KEY 4, Volunteering use KEY 5
Carer page use KEY 6, Forum use KEY 7
Contact page use KEY 8, Accessibility page use KEY 9
RSS News Feed use KEY R
Contact Form use KEY X (Only on contact page)
Web Browser Choice:
Although the Solace website has been developed to be viewable in any type of Web browser, to enable certain accessibility features like access keys, it's recommended that Internet Explorer 6+, Netscape 7+ or Firefox are used to view the Solace website.

Downloading documents:
Downloadable documents on the Solace website are provided as PDF documents. A software application, known as Adobe Acrobat Reader, is required to view these documents. Most computers already have the software to open these documents.
